FCC Announces Broadband Data Collection Filing Window: Data as of December 31, 2024 Due by March 3, 2025 | Moss Adams Alert – December 17, 2024

The FCC’s Broadband Data Task Force has announced the next Broadband Data Collection (BDC) filing window for submitting broadband availability and other data. Beginning January 2, 2025, facilities-based broadband service providers may begin submitting data in the BDC system that identifies where they made mass-market broadband internet access service available as of December 31, 2024. In addition, broadband providers and fixed voice service providers must submit their December 31, 2024 subscription data into the BDC system. All availability and subscription data must be submitted no later than March 3, 2025. (Subscribe for more)

FCC Announces 2025 Voice and Broadband Reasonable Comparability Benchmarks | Moss Adams Alert – December 16, 2024

The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau and Office of Economics and Analytics have issued a Public Notice announcing the 2025 reasonable comparability benchmarks for fixed voice and broadband services for eligible telecommunications carriers (ETCs).  The Public Notice also announces the 2025 minimum usage allowance for fixed broadband service. First Quarter 2025 USF Contribution Factor Increases to 36.3% | Moss Adams Alert – December 12, 2024

The FCC announced that the proposed universal service contribution factor for the first quarter of 2025 is 36.3 percent (0.363), an increase from the current contribution factor of 35.8 percent.  All companies that assess their customers a Federal Universal Service Charge (FUSC) and choose to pass through this increase will need to implement the increase in their billing systems.
